Vanessa Carlysle, better known as Copycat, is a mutant from the Marvel Universe with the power of shapeshifting. Her abilities go beyond simple disguise, allowing her to perfectly mimic not only appearance, but also the powers and memories of individuals she copies.

Born a mutant, Vanessa initially worked as a prostitute and mercenary, crossing paths with Wade Wilson, who would later become Deadpool. Their relationship was tumultuous and ultimately ended due to Wade's fear of her proximity to his cancer when he received it.

Copycat has worked for various organizations, including the Weapon X program. Often manipulated and exploited, she frequently found herself embroiled in conflicts against X-Force and other mutant teams. Her abilities make her a formidable opponent, as she can effectively become anyone, including other mutants with devastating powers.

Despite her morally ambiguous past, Copycat has occasionally demonstrated a capacity for good, even working alongside heroes on occasion. While not always reliable, her unique powers ensure she remains a significant and unpredictable player in the mutant world.
